The PEPITE Award, organised by the Ministry of higher education, research and innovation, is a support mechanism for innovative and creative business creation projects carried out by students and young graduates with student entrepreneur status.
PEPITE 2020 annual contest handed down its verdict highlighting inventive, motivated entrepreneur(s), committed to their project despite the current crisis. A good year 2020 for the PeeL, with a winner selected for the national PEPITE contest and a national winner for an initiative related to Covid.
Among the 23 PEPITE regional contest candidates, 8 winners won a 875 euros prize to reward the innovation of their projects. They are:
- Appoline Collet, a Master in Engineering student specialised in Materials and Production Management of Nancy's School of Mines, designed an eco-rental service called Ewig dedicated to the holidays of toddlers from 0 to 3 years old.
- Taha Daanoun, a Master in Mathematical Engineering for Data Science student from the Faculty of Science and Technology of Nancy, offers, through Datera, a web page referencing optimisation with artificial intelligence tools.
- Benjamin Delcourt, an ENSAM Metz student, offers a modular, lightweight, flexible ballistic protection system for soldiers and humanitarian aid workers in conflict zones, named Pangolin. In his project, he is assisted by Omar Abdelhamid, Quentin du Réau and Clément Saglio.
- Marie Eppe, an IAE Metz School of Management D2E student, works on the In Extremis project. It aims to avoid food waste with a range of products made with the surplus of agri-food companies.
- Zakaria Lofti, a Master in Business Management and Administration student in the IAE Nancy, School of Management, is presenting Dreaming School, an innovative project in the foreign language teaching field.
- Jean Massou, a Metz UFR Mathematics, IT, Mechanics student, Mechanical and Civil Engineer, invented Br'eye, a fun game to promote the independent learning of Braille.
- Arnaud Tonon, an IAE Metz School of Management D2E student, is developping a solution based on artificial intelligence to improve sporting gesture. He is assisted by Dino Mattioni and Aurélien Schwab to work on this project: Sport performance.
- Charles-Antoine Robert, also an IAE Metz School of Management D2E student, as for him, is the leader of the Anam'note project. He also won the Pépite national award, for which he was rewarded with a 10 000 euros prize. With his team composed of Romain Didier and Paul Renoult, they had the idea to create an optimised digital medical environment thanks to technologies derived from Artificial Intelligence and cognitive science.
The national award for Covid related initiative was won by Emeline Garyet and her team composed of Emeline Jacot, Nathan Wuj and Martin Doguet, Grand Est candidates. Master in Health Engineering with a Biomedical Engineering specialisation students in Nancy, they created SIS TEAM NANCY which stands for Health Science and Engineering - Medical Application Technology and Expertise (Sciences et Ingénierie de la Santé – Technologie et Expertise en Application Médicale – Nancy). SIS TEAM NANCY is an association at the service of students but also of biomedical professionals to acquire professional experience and to meet needs through the implementation of services. They conceived an automated insufflator prototype named ROne. It is an innovative prototype of an automated respiratory system (control with the help of blood pressure cuffs) with parts available in hospitals. The objective is to potentially replace a respirator, equipment required for the management of patients in respiratory distress.
