Health Chair

The Health Chair is about health organisations. They are seen in their broadest sense: health, medico-social and even social (disability). The work of the Chair will concern both public and private organisations.

The chair is positioned in a deliberately non-medical disciplinary field: the work is mainly anchored in management (organisational sciences) but mobilises other disciplines such as engineering sciences, sociology, law, psychology, sports science, etc.

The Health Chair aims to be anchored "in" the field. Research-intervention type methodologies are favoured even if they are not exclusive.

The Health Chair works on issues linked with health actors and organisations as well as with the management systems implemented. Here are a few examples of issues:

• Territories and networks: city-hospital networks, territorial cooperation, health diagnosis of territories, strategic positioning of establishments, analysis of care offers, branding,
• Management systems and analysis of organisational practices: e-health, digital, management of complex projects, evaluation, appropriation of management tools and technologies
• Institutional relations: impact of reforms (HPST, CPST, restructurings, reconfigurations, mutualisations),
• Strategy: foresight, development strategy, tomorrow's patient pathway
• Support for managers: training, coaching, focus groups of managers
• Human resources and managerial practices: organisational forms and managerial practices, digital transformations and HR
• Innovation, organisation and processes: supply-chain, sizing of technical platforms, process management, quality management, purchasing, IS, technological concentration
• Risk and crisis management: risk management, adverse events, crisis management
• ……..

Objective 1: Catalyse - Do more than what exists:  IAE has a real know-how in the field of health management, both in training (Masters, DU) and in research (theses, HDR, publications, books). Our idea is to go further to develop longer-term thematic research programmes at local, national and international levels and to develop new training and teaching practices.

Objective 2: Network the expertise of the IAE Metz of the University of Lorraine with national and international players in the field of health management. The aim will be to mobilise teacher-researchers from the University of Lorraine who work in the field of health organisations, whatever their discipline outside medicine (health management, engineering, health law, psychology, sociology, etc.), and to put them in contact with other players in the field on a national and international scale (Canada, USA, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia, Switzerland, Luxembourg).

Objective 3: To produce useful knowledge for hospital managers. The results of the research will be transformed into tailor-made "training" for managers, in support and expertise missions. Our goal is to become a national centre of expertise and resources.

Objective 4: Co-produce high-level research linked with the strategy of the Chair's partners. The aim is to conduct applied research with a strong managerial impact. All the research carried out within the framework of the Health Chair will have as a common point to respond to a social demand and to start from a need.
