Presentation
The Master's degree is registrated as State Degree in the National Directory of Professional Certifications (RNCP code 35922). It is certified level 7.
This training is offered only in the second year of the Master's degree.
The Master's Degree "Entrepreneurship and Business Development" focuses on theoretical and practical knowledge useful for the formulation and development of projects, whether for the creation of a new activity, the takeover of a company or the expansion of activities in an existing structure. It aims to develop entrepreneurial, social and relational skills in students to increase their ability to lead a project, lead a team and work in a network. It also provides a theoretical and empirical understanding of the business creation process by presenting the approach from the gaseous state to the crystallisation state, while considering the ecosystem of the entrepreneurial project.
This master's degree offers the possibility to follow the Master's Degree in Consulting and Research Professions as a double degree. Discover the program of the Master's Degree in Consulting and Research Professions.
Specificities of the master's degree
The pedagogy and organisation of classes are based on the logic of training-action. The courses are focused on the students' projects and the students are invited to meet the actors of the local ecosystem. In this sense, the courses are taught on the one hand by Academics who carry out their research work in the field of Entrepreneurship and SME management, and on the other hand by professionals from entrepreneurship support networks and / or by business leaders. This professional diversity constitutes a wealth of the teaching team useful to students and to the success of their projects.
This degree allows candidates to acquire skills through entrepreneurial experience:
- Ability to mobilise personal resources and cope with psychosocial barriers
- Ability to account for one's intentionality
- Ability to develop a vision and use strategic thinking
- Ability to define, coordinate and follow the course of activities independently
- Ability to solve problems and position oneself in the face of conflicts
- Ability to interact and negotiate with different stakeholders

Organisation
Conduct
The Master's degree "Entrepreneurship and Business Development" is 50% shared with the Master's degree "Project Management". It takes place over a full-time academic year (semester 9 and semester 10). Six months are devoted to teaching (from mid-September to early March), then the internship allows you to test the business scenario or to acquire new knowledge to make the project more robust.
One day a week is devoted exclusively to the entrepreneurial project. Classes can be held from Monday to Saturday, from 8 am to 8 pm. Personalised support twice a month in partnership with the Lorraine Student Entrepreneurship Centre (PeeL) is mandatory for any project enrolled in a master's degree.
The assessment of knowledge is carried out in continuous assessment and attendance at lessons is required. The defense of the project in front of professionals and participation in entrepreneurial competitions external to the IAE are highly recommended.
