Presentation

The Bachelor's degree is registered by law as a State Degree in the National Directory of Professional Certification (RNCP Code 35924). It is level 6 approved.

The Bachelor's Degree in Management is now integrated into an "economics-management Portal", in which students gradually specialise, starting from the second year of the bachelor's degree (a specialisation in economics or management is proposed), and at the end of which students definitively determine the choice of their final registration mention. It also welcomes in 3rd year of Bachelor's degree students holding 120 ECTS credits (CPGE, L2, DUT...) based on the admission requirements below.

The 3rd year of Bachelor's degree in Management is the generalist course within the Bachelor's degree mention Management

Objectives

The main objective of the Bachelor's degree in Management is to enable students to acquire a real general knowledge of management, in its various fields: finance, marketing, human resources, accounting, etc. and in the interactions between these fields. It offers courses covering all the functions of the company and subjects transversal to management (foreign languages, computer science, quantitative techniques) so that students can build a generalist and versatile base of knowledge before continuing their university course by specialising in a master's degree in one of the different fields of management. The course choices (Finance-Control or Management-Innovation) in semester 5 and semester 6, allowing to deepen the knowledge in some of these fields, aim to prepare the integration in Master.

These same courses also facilitate the professional integration of students (few in number) wishing to engage in professional life after obtaining the Bachelor's level.

Job openings

In the case of immediate professional integration, the jobs targeted are, for example, those of assistant or deputy in the fields of accounting, management control, marketing, finance or human resources.

Continuation of studies

With regards to further studies, students holding the Bachelor's degree in Management can choose between the various master's degree in the field of management offered at the University of Lorraine, mainly at IAE Metz and IAE Nancy, as well as master's degrees offered by other Universities in France and Europe.

Conduct

The Bachelor's degree in management is mainly provided in basic training and in person. However, many teachers supplement their course by making many online resources available to students. Actors from the socio-economic world are involved in the training through presentations of their professional activity (within the framework of Personal and Professional Projects) as well as within the framework of teaching.

Several integrative activities contribute to the linking of the different lessons provided during the training and to the implementation of the targeted skills. A "management simulation" in semester 6 allows students, through a serious game, to place themselves in the situation of a company manager, to make management decisions and to evaluate the consequences of these decisions. A "student project" promotes the collective realisation of a project involving several disciplinary teachings (project management, budgeting, communication, team management, etc.). Finally, an internship is planned at the end of the course.
